The Polish national pre-selection for the World Chocolate Masters 2013 took place on April 16-17,2013 in Chocolate Academy in Barry Callebaut in Lodz.
There were four applicants selected to participate in this competition: Daniel Staroń, Izabela Berendt, Jacek Kryszeń and the youngest Mariusz Górecki.
The first day of the competitions was dedicated to the creations of a Chocolate Showpiece. On the second day participants presented a moulded praline, a gastronomic chocolate dessert, a chocolate layered cake and an apple pie as a classic revisited recipe.
The jury consisted of four professional Polish pastry chefs such as Bożena Sikoń, Paweł Małecki, Leszek Truskolawski, Janusz Profus and Yolande Stanley (UK).

The winner will compete with other artisans from different countries in the WCM Final which will be held on October in Paris.
