BRAZIL Laurent Suaudeau
Experience
Sauaudeau studied at a technical culinary school where he met chef
Yvon Garnier who gave him is first job. After working in several
French restauarants around the country, Sauaudeau moved to Brazil
to head up Le Saint-Honore restaurant in Meridien Hotel in Rio
before opening his own restaurant in 1986, later voted the best
restaurant in the city. He then went on to open a second restaurant
under the same name of Laurent, in Sao Paulo.
He also owns his own culinary school and a premium catering company
(Arts de La Table), providing cuisine at events such as the Sao
Paulo Grand Prix.
Associations
Sauaudeau founded the Brazilian Association of High End Gastronomy
(ABAGA) in 1994, an internationally recognised industry body.
Honorary President of the Laurent Gourmet Show since 1996
Awards
The Chevalier de L’Ordre du Merite Agricole, awarded by the French
Government for his work on disseminating French culture in 1997
Maître Cuisinier de France since 2004
